Abstract

Nowadays, the criticality of assets/infrastructure elements is the often
discussed concept, both in the security community in the Czech Republic and in
many countries of the European Union. The article presents the results of the
background research, carried out with the aim to define the criticality as the
primary characteristic of the infrastructure element, specifying the methods that
are used for classifying the element in a specialized protection system, e.g. in the
critical infrastructure.
