Complexity of real world makes extensive demands to the process of
decision making in all branches of human activities. Modern information
technologies, telematics, logistics, new transportation systems and technologies
enable in a potent way rationalize processes running in transportation systems
and in systems close connected as well. Modern and effective operation of complex
systems is not possible without use of applied mathematics and quantitative
methods. That why is also very important to use methods and algorithms of applied
mathematics and quantitative methods as a support enabling optimal decision
making in the whole scale of problems related to the problems of safety planning
and operational safety management. In this paper possibilities of use of some
decision making methods in the area of safety planning will be described.
