DECONTAMINATION OF CHEMICAL WARFARE AGENTS AT LOW TEMPERATURES WITHIN THE FIRE RESCUESERVICE OF THE CZECH REPUBLIC II TESTING OF DECONTAMINATION MIXTURES WITHADDITIVES TO REDUCE THE FREEZING POINT OF DECONTAMINATION MIXTURES WITHADDITIVES TO REDUCE THE FREEZING POINT

Effect of additives such as ethylene glycol, glycerine, and ethanolamine on
the freezing point of the decontamination mixtures used within FRS CR was tested.
Decontamination efficiency of these mixtures with additives for decontamination of
painted sheet metal contaminated with Soman, VX agent, and mustard gas has
been verified and compared in the laboratory conditions. Effect of additives for
reducing the freezing point on stability of decontamination mixtures was also
studied. The study has resulted in suggesting the best mixture for decontamination
at low temperatures within the FRS of the Czech Republic.
