Abstract

This paper describes the issues of risks conditions associated with the
explosion of gaseous mixtures. Method of mathematical modeling by ANSYS
FLUENT software for solving is used. The work contains two alternatives of
solution. Variant A not considering damage room, and variant B considering
destruction room, in which the blast was initiated.
Problem solution caused by the generation of explosion pressure waves is
not easy. It should be mentioned that it is very important to orient oneself on
physical knowledge, related to fluid flow, technical drawings, thermophysical
properties and material knowledge. It is important to note that a major impact on
solving of similar tasks depends on correct determination of chemical reaction
constants as activation energy and pre-exponential factor. These constants have
significantly influence on chemical reaction of gaseous fuel with an oxidizer. In the
final summary the comparison of calculated data with the results of both
experimental measurements and also with other problem oriented numerical
software (FLACS) is evaluated.
The essence of such works is verification of mathematical models for the
fire technical expertise. This work should also contribute to better understanding
of burning behavior of gaseous fuel mixtures in confined spaces and thereby
significantly reduce the risk of such situations or prevent them.
