The problem with today's modern world is the transport of hazardous substances. In
traffic accidents involving dangerous substances can result in serious impacts that affect traffic
accident site, and last but not least its broad surroundings. Traffic accident involving the
hazardous substances are significantly affecting the environment, infrastructure and human
security, because it may result in fire, explosion or explosion hazardous materials. It is
introduced the concept of integral safety, which is a comprehensive tool for ensuring a level of
security and sustainable development of humans and all further essential public interests
protected in the territory and throughout our state. In this article, we are evaluating the critical
points in the transport of hazardous substances by road and rail in the Czech Republic. We also
give results of evaluation of two critical points of risk engineering methods.
