According to literature, a crisis is usually presented in a wave shape. In addition, this
curve, usually derived from a quantity, e.g., the float rate in case of a flood, is often divided into
specific stages. But there are some crises which are lacking of sinuate behaviour, e.g. explosions.
Thus, they are to measure with any physical quantity only with difficulties in order to
distinguish phases of a crisis. This article deals with an alternative representation of such a type
of crises. Such an option seems to be a reflection of an emergency event by mass media. So, authors
present this idea as a case study on the emergency event in the ammunition storage site in Vrbětice.
