Abstract

With the development of the fire safety, methods for the evaluation of local fire are
increasingly applied. Applying these methods is, for reasons of difficult orientation in
procedures for the evaluation of local fire and especially for the lack of links with the national
standard for the evaluation of fire building safety in the Czech Republic, significantly reduced.
Dealing with the local fire, there is, for determining of released heat flow, usually used
so-called T-quadratic fire, which considers the time required to achieve the reference speed and
the fire growth rate. The article describes the procedures for deriving the constant for
determination of the time required for achieving the reference speed within the national
standard, on the basis of which there were subsequently created, or corrected, equation for
determining the time required to achieve the reference speed and the fire growth rate with
a link to the national standard in the Czech Republic. The article illustrates that it is necessary
to correct the current procedure for evaluating the local fire presented in the CSN 73 0802 Fire
building safety – Non-industrial buildings.
