Abstract

The Hungarian legal regulation on industrial safety getting into force on 1-st of
January 2012. covers the tasks of the protection of major industrial accidents involving
dangerous substances. The system of tasks and measures arises from the implementation of the
legal regulation can be divided into three groups: prevention and preparedness period; the
(emergency) response period, and the recovery period. In this article the author will deal with
the unified system of legal instruments and devices established in the field of prevention of and
preparedness for the major industrial accidents in Hungary.
