Abstract

The article focuses on the current state of chemical weapons dumped in the North and
Baltic sea during the last century. It analyses the environmental and other security risks arising
from the presence of chemical ammunition at the bottom of the sea and presents the possible
solutions that could diminish the likelihood of such risks in the future. The final part of the
article aims to assess the role of the states as well as other actors in the monitoring and
disposal of sea-dumped chemical weapons
