The Chemical Laboratory of the Fire Rescue Service (CHL FRS) and its Radiological
Emergency Response Team must have its instrumentation regularly checked, calibrated and
inspected for response precision. To ensure functionality, repeatability and accuracy of
measuring instruments (gauges), it is necessary to periodically check stability of the gauge and
record it. Frequency is determined by the user of the gauge and must be such that the gauge’s
incorrectness is detected in a timely manner.
