USING OF REMOTE DETECTOR SIGIS 2 AT TOP SPORTING AND POLITICAL EVENTS

In May and June 2015 were held in the Czech Republic two sports tournaments
observed by fans from all over the world. It was Ice Hockey World Championship and UEFA
European Under-21 Championship. In 2016 a chinese delegation headed by President
Si Ťin-pching visited the Czech Republic. In January 2017, the European Figure Skating
Championship took place in Ostrava. At all these events, the environment was monitored by the
SIGIS 2 remote detector, owned by the Institute for Population Protection. Monitoring took
place both at the sports grounds and at the Prague Castle and around the presidential residence
in Lány. Knowledge and experience from monitoring of these events are presented in this paper.
