The article evaluates current design trends of the filtration type protective clothing.
Emphasis is placed on possible modifications of the cover layer, especially in terms of
preventing the penetration of the liquid phase of the chemical warfare agent into the structure
of the garment fabric. The main design trend for the sorption layer is the application of
spherical activated charcoal. In the construction of the garment itself, it is possible to observe a
tendency to simplify the cut, which is determined by the use of support systems or the use of
personal ballistic protection means. Emphasis is placed on ensuring compatibility with the face
mask and on ensuring the overlap of the individual parts of the garment. In the future, it is
possible to expect the use of sensor systems to control the penetration of contaminants.
