This article deals with the threat of terrorism in Canada. It analyzes the
development of various forms of terrorism in Canada in historical context (domestic
ethno-separatist terrorism, extreme left terrorism, eco-terrorism, extreme right
terrorism, terrorism of diasporas and Islamist terrorism). The article identifies
ideology, methods and goals of various terrorist groups in relation to Canadian
government and population. It assesses the general impact of terrorism on Canadian
security and on Canadian counter-terrorism policy.
