Chemical weapons have been used since antiquity. In the article are listed
use cases from ancient times up to the period before 1. The World War. The
negotiations on the regulation of chemical weapons to their destruction under way
with various interruptions since 1675, and were whipped by the Convention on the
prohibition of the development, production, stockpiling and use of chemical
weapons and on their destruction, which entered into force 29. April 1997.
Population Protection Institute cooperates with the Organization for the
Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) in the form of OPCW inspectors
training, the participation of the institute representative to conduct of the
Validation Group for analytical databases and offer their own Infrared Spectra
and Retention Indices of toxic substances.
