To warn and notify public of emergency situations, the FRS CR uses the Unified
System of Warning and Notification. Since the system is more than 20 years old, its
modernisation is highly desirable. The market with radio technology nowadays offers a lot of
alternatives, which could be used for the modernisation of the system. This article brings
a short summary of basic characteristic of potential technologies. It also evaluates their
benefits and limitations in relation to their assumed use. A solution for the new complex
communication system that would be usable for other mobile communication needs of the
FRS CR has been created on the basis of this evaluation.
