Abstract

This work focuses on the possibilities of organism hydration when wearing individual
protective equipment and working in an environment that is contaminated. In the first part, the
study briefly discusses the current possibilities of organism hydration in the Armed Forces of
the Czech Republic and mentions the main disadvantages and drawbacks of the present-day
solution. A possible answer to this problem could be the use of hydration packs that are
connected to the OM-90 protective mask. The experimental part presents results concerning
protective properties of three selected hydration packs using the minimal breakthrough time
by applying the MIKROTEST and the MINITEST method. The aim of the experimental part is to
determine the possibilities of using CBRN resistant and non-resistant hydration packs in
a contaminated environment.
