The paper deals with a non-destructive testing for the purpose of fire-technical
expertise. Specialists at the Fire causes investigation workplace use a stationary X-ray cabin in
order to determine causes of fires from specific samples. The new method significantly helps
and speeds up the fire-technical expertise process. The ability to take photographs of packaged
samples collected at fire scenes, and measuring in tenths of millimetres represents a significant
improvement. To more efficiently compare fire-damaged samples, a library of images of various
electrical appliances has been created.
