Abstract

Global War on Terror has been waged since 10 years on the territory of
two Islamic states – Afghanistan and Iraq. The military invasion of the USA and its
allies overthrow the dictatorships of the Taliban and of Saddam Hussein and
opened the way of these two countries toward democracy. But at the other hand,
the military activities have had a lot of negative consequences for the local
populations. The number of the civilian victims is more than 100. 000, the number
of the refugees and IDP has reached 10 millions and the conditions of live in the
camps are enormously bad. Another big problem is posed by the deterioration of
the environment – especially deforestifications, intoxication of deep waters and of
the air. Last but not least the health of the local populations has been suffering. All
these problems pose a lot of big challenges for the future.
