ASPECTS OF POPULATION PROTECTION RESULTING FROM BIOLOGICAL THREATS

Abstract

This paper deals with biosafety, biological security and biological
preparedness as a system of countermeasures against biological threats with short
conceptual description of these terms. Brief overview of the existing system of biopreparedness of the Czech Republic is followed by its known weaknesses and
possible shortcomings of the current status. Suggestions for improvement of
current situation are described. The economic aspect of the system due to the
reversed risks is mentioned in broad terms.
